KYSA HARDSHIP FUNDING
In every community across British Columbia kids want a chance to play sport. Unfortunately, some families
simply cannot afford the registration fees for their child to play in an organized environment.
The benefits of sport participation are well documented. Playing soccer supports the development
of self-esteem, community engagement, confidence, leadership and teamwork skills.
Through the KYSA Hardship Fund, families dealing with financial difficulties have one less expense
to worry about; they can ensure their kids have an even playing field when it comes to
accessibility to the great game of soccer. That’s why the KYSA’s Hardship Fund was started
and that’s why funds are continually made available to ensure everyone who wants to play, can!
Parents of children seeking financial assistance to cover soccer registration fees should first
contact the following agencies:
1. Sport BC Kid’s Sport” Fund
www.tournamentcapital.com/grants_and_funding.htm
2. Let Kids Play Foundation
www.letkidsplay.ca
3. Canadian Tire Jump Start Program

If the above-noted agencies will not provide a grant to cover a child’s registration fee, a
fourth
option is to apply to the KYSA’s Hardship Fund
To expedite the application process, we
recommend applicants hand deliver their
completed
application (see below), with supporting
documents, to the KYSA office.
